If you are considering getting into a raw food lifestyle, you will want to know what are the benefits of a raw food diet? I promise you, if you get into a raw food lifestyle, or even a partly raw food lifestyle, and stick with it, within only a couple of weeks you will find you have more energy.
It seems impossible right? How can eating nothing but “rabbit food” increase your energy levels?
I thought that too, until I tried it.
The energy from the raw food is being burned rather than converted to fat like it does with high fat cooked foods.
Why? Because raw foods contain the enzymes that are usually removed during the cooking process. These enzymes combine with your own digestion to help speed up the process by which your body breaks down the components you need to lose weight but remain energized.
While cooked foods remain stored in your body, raw food breaks down the components immediately. This leads to a slimmer you in no time.
While all this is going on, your digestive system will thank you.
Remember, whenever you eat, your body has to put energy and divert resources to your digestive system in order to cope. This means diverting more blood to your digestive system and away from other parts of your body. That is why you tend to feel sleepy when you eat a big meal.
Your new raw food diet, which utilises the enzymes within that food to assist digestion, means less energy is needed for digestion, hence you more for you!
Another huge benefit of a raw food diet is the lack of acid, bile and residual effects that go into cooked food digestion. You will feel lighter and be more regular within one week of eating a raw food diet.
Less carbs means less weight. On the raw food diet, your calorie and carbohydrate intake will be automatically reduced. However, protein levels will also be lowered which could lead to health problems.
To ensure your protein levels remain high, add plenty of nuts, seeds and legumes to your diet. By going the partly raw food diet you can still eat fish and chicken etc. (In moderation, of course.)
It is hard to overeat on this diet, but you will still feel nourished. Due to the high water and fiber content in a raw food diet you will fill fuller faster. And still, it is almost impossible to put on excess fat because your liver is now working at it’s optimum level and removing toxins rather than storing them. (See more about this at ….)
As an example, here is a simple, delicious smoothie, that is very quick and easy to digest, will give you an energy boost with no trace of fat:
Blend together 1/2 cup Filtered Water, 1/4 of a peeled and cut pineapple, 10 strawberries, 1 banana, 1 peeled and cut mango, and 3 ice cubes. When mixture is creamy, serve and enjoy!
No matter how much weight you need to lose – (or even if you don’t really want to lose any!) – the benefits of a raw food diet will improve your energy levels, your health and your vitality. But don’t take my word for it. Try it out for yourself. I guarantee a week or two of eating raw and healthy food will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for anything!
