Changing To A Raw Food Diet

If you really want to feel great and lose weight then changing to a raw food diet is the way to go, here are some tips and techniques to help you get started.  If you follow them properly, you should see weight loss results much more quickly.  Be sure you follow some sort of exercise regimen while on a diet, since these two work together.

It is always a good idea, before you start any diet or exercise regime, to consult your physician. Tell him or her what you intend to do and listen to their advice. This way you can determine if your body is a right fit for this type of diet and program. If your doctor gives you the go ahead to start a raw food diet for your weight loss goals, here is a good way to begin:

* Be realistic. Aim to lose 1 – 2 pounds a week and you probably will. Aim to lose 10 – 20 and you won’t!

* Don’t just rely on diet alone. Raw Food is a healthy lifestyle and as such you should try to live your whole life more healthily. Take some exercise, even if it just taking a brisk walk once or twice a day. You will feel the benefits if you stick to it.

* Make time to relax. Learn how to unwind and excape the daily stress.

* Start your day with fruit. It is easily and quickly digested and gives a good boost to start your day.

* If you are hungry and desperate for a snack, try a piece of fruit.

* Salads are the perfect lunchtime meal, but remember your food combining rules, and don’t mix protein and starch!

* Your evening meal can include a concentrated protien like meat or fish if you want. Or you could go for the starch option and have pasta.Remember though, protein or starch, not both!(For more on food combining see…)

* You can go online to find raw food diet recipes or even raw diet cook books.  There are plenty of raw food diet recipes available for you to choose from, so that you are not overwhelmed. (See our links page to find suitable raw food recipes)

Do you have to say goodbye to sweet treats and desserts?

The answer to this question is “not necessarily.”  There are raw food dessert recipes available which won’t undo your whole day.

Do you love Apple Pie?  If so, don’t despair. There are “raw food” recipes that you can use to create apple pie. It won’t be the same dessert you’re used to, but it will still taste great and provide you with a reasonable substitute.

At the end of the day, you can have whatever you want, it’s your choice. Just remember that changing to a raw food diet is what you make it. The bigger the proportion of raw food you eat, the more succesful it will be.
