A lot of people are beginning to find out about the power of motivational weight loss in it’s own right, and more are beginning to realize that combining this powerful mental tool with a change to a raw food diet is going to dramatically increase their weight loss success. However, without a proper weight loss goal it is just a blunt instrument.
You probably do not realize it, but goal setting is very powerful stuff if done correctly. By learning how to utilize it’s power you will be not just be able to lose weight, but you will be able to create the ideal future for yourself, and also learn how to motivate yourself to turn negatives into positives.
You need to understand that when it comes to personal goal setting you are basically introducing direction into your life. By doing this, you will come to live your own life the way that you would like to, and you will also begin to reap the benefits of all the positive energy you will start to generate around you.
There is a whole process to setting goals and you will need to complete the process for each and every personal goal, however large or small.
Let’s take weight loss as an example:
Basically, you need to determine just how much weight you want to lose, and when you want to lose it by. Be realistic. If you want to lose 10lbs, don’t kid yourself that you will do it in two weeks. If you don’t believe you can achieve your goal, how likely are you to make a real effort to reach it? In this case, I would suggest you allow yourself 10 weeks.
Keep your goal in focus. It needs to be clearly defined so that when you get started there is no blurry line and you know exactly what you are doing. If this is the first time you have set yourself a goal, you will find there are times where you will get off track, but you have to have the self-discipline to push yourself further. If you have set a goal that you truly believe in, whilst it may be hard work at first, in no time it will become second nature.
Make sure you track your weight loss regularly (weekly) so that you know you are still on the right path, and following the right schedule. If you need to reschedule a goal there is nothing wrong with that.
When it comes to motivation, if your goal has been set properly you will find that the success of a goal is so moving that you will be able to build self-confidence quickly. You will find that the success of one goal will build momentum to help you to reach your next goal.
